Hey everyone. I grabbed my double coffee and picked out the 5 events that are moving the board today. The market is pricing in a world divided between the AI race (with China coming in cheap) and relentless geopolitical tension. Let's get straight to the point.
Fact: A veteran investor claims Chinese AI is "undervalued and cheap," with Kling's $2 billion deal signaling a price adjustment, while Hong Kong draws foreign inflows.
Verdict: I Would Buy tech stocks exposed to China, especially via Hong Kong. The valuation is discounted, and the catalyst (Kling) shows the market is pricing in a catch-up.
Affected Assets/Sectors: KWEB (China Internet ETF), BABA (Alibaba), 9988.HK (Alibaba HK), China semiconductor sector.
Fact: Machvision (Taiwan) posted record revenue in June, driven by AI servers, HPC, and advanced semiconductor packaging.
Verdict: I Would Buy Machvision stock (if listed) or the AI equipment sector in Taiwan. The order flow is real and shows no slowdown.
Affected Assets/Sectors: NVDA (indirect demand), ASML, PCB/IC inspection sector, HPC suppliers in Asia.
Fact: NATO allies (Europe and Canada) will ratify an $80 billion military aid package for Ukraine, financed by an EU loan.
Verdict: I Would Hold positions in European defense. The announcement is already priced in, but it guarantees future revenue for the sector. No immediate upside catalyst.
Affected Assets/Sectors: Rheinmetall, Thales, BAE Systems, European defense sector.
Fact: Ethereum's (ETH) market cap surpassed $215 billion, returning to the select group of the top 100 global assets by market value.
Verdict: I Would Buy ETH. The valuation recovery attracts institutional investors and reinforces the DeFi narrative as a serious asset class.
Affected Assets/Sectors: ETH, DeFi (AAVE, UNI), Bitcoin (BTC), blockchain sector.
Fact: Putin ordered the continuation of large-scale attacks on Ukrainian military and industrial facilities, raising geopolitical risk in the region.
Verdict: I Would Reduce exposure to risky European assets and Black Sea-linked commodities (wheat, oil). The escalation noise is negative for the short term.
Affected Assets/Sectors: WEAT (wheat), OIL (crude oil), European stocks (SX5E), insurance sector.
