Hey everyone. I grabbed my double espresso and picked out the moves that really matter this week. The market is moving fast: stablecoins are migrating, the chip war has a new king, and Musk dropped a grim warning. Let's get straight to what affects your wallet.
Fact: Apple (AAPL) surpassed Nvidia (NVDA) to close as the world's most valuable company, while NVDA fell 5% on the day.
I Would Buy — AAPL. Apple is reaping the benefits of not jumping into the AI capex frenzy, showing resilient revenue from services and its ecosystem.
Assets/Sectors: AAPL, NVDA, semiconductor sector, tech ETFs (QQQ)
Fact: Circle minted $500 million in USDC directly on the Solana network, accelerating the migration of stablecoin liquidity to the SOL ecosystem.
I Would Buy — SOL. Liquidity is king, and this move strengthens Solana as the settlement blockchain for stablecoins, dethroning Ethereum in this niche.
Assets/Sectors: SOL, USDC, DeFi on Solana (Raydium, Jupiter), L1 competitors (ETH)
Fact: NVDA made a "substantial" investment in Safe Superintelligence (SSI), the startup from OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever.
I Would Hold — NVDA. The move is good for the long term (access to talent and innovation), but the market is punishing the company for aggressive AI spending.
Assets/Sectors: NVDA, SSI (private), AI sector, data center competitors (AMD)
Fact: Elon Musk publicly declared that AI is advancing too fast and that humans will lose control of the technology in less than a decade.
I Would Reduce — General exposure to pure AI companies (NVDA, SMCI). Regulatory and existential risk is becoming a talking point for governments, generating volatility.
Assets/Sectors: NVDA, SMCI, AI sector, cybersecurity companies (PANW)
Fact: The competition for AI hegemony is redefining national priorities between the US and China, going far beyond the traditional trade war.
I Would Buy — US semiconductor and AI infrastructure companies. The US government will inject even more capital into the sector to avoid losing its lead.
Assets/Sectors: NVDA, AMD, ASML, defense sector (RTX, LMT)
