Wall Street Breakfast: Oil Boiling, Tesla Robots, and a Selective Crypto Rally

Good morning, everyone. Today's talk revolves around three things: a barrel above $100, Tesla finally showing that Optimus isn't just a stage video, and a crypto rally that's separating the wheat from the chaff. Let's get straight to it.

1. Oil Breaching the $100 Barrier with No End in Sight to the Iran War

The fact: Brent hit $108 and WTI broke through $100 after attacks on Saudi infrastructure and JPMorgan's warning that the end of the conflict with Iran is "impossible to predict."

My verdict: I Would Buy — but with a hedge. This isn't a short-term spike, it's a supply shock with an open geopolitical component. As long as the UN Security Council agenda doesn't move forward, the risk premium stays baked in.

Assets on the radar:

  • XOM (Exxon Mobil) — direct beneficiary of Brent's rise.
  • CVX (Chevron) — same logic, solid balance sheet.
  • XLE (S&P 500 energy ETF) — the cleanest way to capture the sector without picking a winner.
  • USO (oil ETF) — for those who want pure exposure to the commodity.

2. G7 Convened Urgently by France to Discuss Release of Strategic Reserves

The fact: France called a G7 summit to coordinate the release of oil reserves amid the energy escalation.

My verdict: I Would Hold my energy position, but without adding. A coordinated reserve release tends to cap prices in the short term — meaning the rally could take a breather. It's not time to sell, it's time not to chase the top.

Assets on the radar:

  • XOM, CVX — they hold up well with dividends.
  • XLE — hold, don't add.
  • SLB (Schlumberger) — oil services feel less of the price swings.

3. Tesla Optimus: 5,000 Orders and the Robot Steps Off the Stage onto the Production Line

The fact: Tesla closed the first large-scale order for Optimus (about 5,000 units) and already plans to produce 50,000 by the end of 2026 — the stock rose more than 4%.

My verdict: I Would Buy. This stops being a science fiction story and becomes a revenue line. The market still prices Tesla as a carmaker; if robotics takes off, the multiple has room to re-rate. Risk is execution, but the catalyst is too big to ignore.

Assets on the radar:

  • TSLA — obvious, but it's the central name.
  • NVDA — the training brain behind any humanoid robot.
  • ABB and FANUY — industrial automation rides along on the theme.
  • The semiconductor sector as a whole.

4. US Tech Explodes and Pulls Taiwan Along: Fed Cuts, Yields Fall, Semiconductors Soar

The fact: After the Fed's 25 bps cut, the Nasdaq rose ~1.7% and the Philadelphia semiconductor index jumped 3.1%, with AMD +6%, Micron +5.5%, and TSMC ADR +3% — a positive signal for the Taiwan stock exchange on Friday.

My verdict: I Would Buy semiconductors now. Rate cut + falling yields + oil eventually stabilized by the G7 = a rare combination for growth. The AI cycle still has fuel.

Assets on the radar:

  • TSM (TSMC) — the most obvious and most strategic chip name on the planet.
  • NVDA — still the heart of the cycle.
  • AMD — gaining share in data centers.
  • MU (Micron) — memory is the bottleneck of AI.

5. US Approves $24.3B Sale of F-35 Fighter Jets to Saudi Arabia

The fact: The State Department approved the potential sale of Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets to the Saudis, in a $24.3 billion package.

My verdict: I Would Buy defense. With the Middle East boiling and Europe rearming, the sector has a structural tailwind — and Lockheed just locked in a massive contract.

Assets on the radar:

  • LMT (Lockheed Martin) — the direct protagonist.
  • RTX (Raytheon) — missiles and air defense.
  • ITA (US defense and aerospace ETF).
  • NOC (Northrop Grumman) — rides along on the rearmament cycle.

6. Selective Crypto Rally: ARB, DASH, and VVV Surge While the Market Digests

The fact: ARB shot up 13.57% after Standard Chartered projected $10 for 2030, DASH rose 19.68% in the privacy coin rally, and VVV advanced 16.53%, nearing its all-time high.

My verdict: I Would Reduce exposure now. Three double-digit moves in 24 hours with stretched volume and RSI nearing overbought is a smell of imminent profit-taking. If you're in, take some off the table; if you're out, wait for the pullback. Crypto doesn't forgive those who enter at the peak of euphoria.

Assets on the radar:

  • ARB — careful, it's risen too much too fast.
  • DASH — privacy rallies tend to be cyclical, not structural.
  • VVV — near its high, risk of correction.
  • BTC and ETH — more stable for those who want to stay in the sector without the noise of altcoins.
